Green infrastructure seems to be everywhere these days, popping up in community plans, engineering firms, and ecological research journals. It promises a lot – cheap, sustainable infrastructure that improves human health and ecological health in one fell swoop. But, not all green infrastructure is created equal and the great bounty of benefits ascribed to the practice cannot be assumed in every case. The Eco-Techno Spectrum of green infrastructure organizes the wide variety of disparate green infrastructure interventions and facility types into a unified framework to analyze social, ecological, and technological implications of this popular practice.
