The National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON) is a continental-scale array that captures a wide variety of ecological data across many different spatial and temporal scales. Since becoming fully operational, NEON has delivered a deluge of data across 181 different products. In the interest of harnessing the ecological data revolution, NEON has developed a wide variety of training and tools to support researchers and educators in obtaining, exploring, and analyzing these rich and complex datasets. Here, we discuss three categories of NEON resources: workshops, data skills tutorials, and open code resources; as well as the lessons learned relevant to other programs.
