Tony Janetos made a large impact on the integration of science and policy through his role as Director of Boston University’s Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future. He brought to these efforts his experience leading interdisciplinary projects, his commitment to solving environmental challenges such as climate change, and his desire to train the next generation of problem solvers. We carry Tony’s vision forward through our training of graduate students in Biogeoscience and Environmental Health to work with city governments, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector to tackle urban environmental challenges.
