Extreme climate events are severely affecting communities in the U.S. and around the world, especially in cities. Globally, networks of researchers and practitioners are seeking solutions that take advantage of the benefits that nature can provide, called nature-based solutions (NBS). What kind or how much NBS is appropriate in cities facing climate-related extreme events will vary as a function of context (environmental, social-cultural, technological). The NATURA project will unite 26 networks across five global regions to exchange knowledge and best practice and set up learning exchanges for early-career scholars and practitioners working on NBS for urban resilience.
