I was not initially fascinated with nature because of childhood experiences of camping trips or hikes. I was drawn to the nature due to my passion of making my community a better place. In relaying science to people, I realize science is my voice to leverage change. As science education and outreach coordinator in a wildlife lab, I’ve learned lessons of: strengthening partnership, culture around inclusive communication and engaging citizens to research.Interfacing scholarship and service is relevant, and my love for research and equitable public engagement has led me to pursue a career that aims to connect all people to nature.
