The desert whispering - Holistic and multi-disciplinary approach to fostering a sense of place

The term "desert" derived from the Latin word dēserere (abandon). How can inhabitants of a wasteland develop a sense of place and environmental responsibility towards a place that lacks essential resources for human existence?

Dryland populations are rapidly growing due to climate change and increasing global population. We propose to revive the life skills of ancient desert cultures to benefit present and future desert dwellers who are often faced with survival anxiety.

We suggest multi-disciplinary environmental education to help cope with feelings of emptiness. We aspire to rouse the deserts' call and enable their inhabitants to hear their secrets
