Do you remember the first time a moment in nature made your heart fill with a joy so strong you felt unstoppable? I’ve learned to use this feeling as an internal compass as I progress through my journey as an ecologist. The natural world opened a window to discovering my passions for science, education and community, but my love for the earth has not come without questioning whether I belong in these spaces in the first place. My experiences with natural history have allowed me to uncover how my identities inform the kind of scientist I strive to be.
