Postdocing has been the most enjoyable phase of my career. Postdocing has been the most frustrating thing I have ever done. I will discuss how 5 years of experiences across three Universities make me appreciate that both of these are true. I will focusing on things I have come to value: having a professional support network, enhancing your perspective and experience, and work/life balance. These have led me view of my career differently than I did 5 years ago. My story is not unique, but it is personal and I hope to share some of that in this session.
