INS 8-3 - Engineering nature love stories through equitable access to nature

Nature is something that must be experienced to be fully impactful. Reading or watching it on TV doesn’t have the same effect as smelling the damp earth after a rain shower or seeing a beautiful bird flutter to the ground to quickly grab a worm. Many urban youth within Louisville do not have equitable access to nature, limiting their experiences from an early age. It is our goal at Jefferson Memorial Forest to remove those barriers allowing urban youth to be more connected to the environment around them. How we try to accomplish this is our inspire story.
