This workshop will provide information about and solicit input and discussion about 1) the various programs that support ecological research at USDA-NIFA; 2)the preparation and management of competitively awarded grants; 3) thinking like a peer-review panelist and the review process; 4) integrating research, education and extension; and 5) writing impact statements, and forming public-private partnerships (how to write them and what we use them for).  There are four project types available across the Agriculture and Food Research Initiative (AFRI). These are 1) Research, 2) Education, 3) Extension and 4) Integrated Research, Education, and/or Extension Projects. This workshop will provide explanations of and answer questions about these types of projects, as well as solicit ideas about other types of projects NIFA could support.
