Ecologists who work in academia may wonder how best to get traction with policymakers.  How do you get legislators, agencies, governors to take notice of ecology and use it in their decisions?  Meanwhile, ecologists who work in government or for non-governmental organizations have answers and insights to these questions from their academic colleagues.  By recognizing the strengths of our diverse professional contributions and fostering opportunities to interact and learn from each other we can better achieve the ecological community’s goal of making the world a better place.
