Session Description: Climate change is here and will continue to impact communities worldwide. In order to address this large and complicated issue effectively, it is essential that we train undergraduate and graduate students across the entire arc of understanding the fundamentals of climate change, the ecological variables influencing climate change, the ecological response to a changing climate and the ecological mechanisms of climate resilience. Additionally, the ESA 4DEE framework calls for teaching ecological concepts, practices, the human-environment interactions, and cross-cutting themes, and climate change has the potential to address all four of these aspects. This workshop will provide an opportunity to overlay the 4DEE framework on climate change educational modules to identify the strengths and areas of opportunity to meet the 4DEE framework within the topic of climate change. The goals of this workshop are to: Contribute to an on-going repository for climate change related educational activities and resourceExplore how climate change educational modules meet the 4DEE frameworkIdentify areas of strength and alignment of climate change education and 4DEEIdentify areas where 4DEE can be used to transform our teaching of climate science Participants are encouraged to bring their own teaching modules, including syllabi, demonstration exercises and associated resources to the session to share.
