The Kruger National Park, South Africa has a long history of using fire as a tool to achieve various ecological and management objectives. However, understanding fire interactions, with drivers such as climate, herbivores, invasive alien species and people, is crucial for Biodiversity Conservation. This presentation will outline the fire history, knowledge and experience gained over decades in understanding and managing fire in the savannahs of the Kruger National Park.
