The evidence is clear. Although most journals in ecology and evolution now require some form of data archiving, it is rarely checked. The result is that quality and usability of the data are highly variable and often, we are not meeting our aims in terms of reproducibility or reuse. With no minimum standards, it is also more difficult to ensure that authors are given the appropriate credit for archiving data. Join our panel of researchers, editors, funders and data repositories to consider how the research community would be affected by being asked to meet minimum standards of supporting data when publishing their research. This session is organized by the British Ecological Society and the Ecological Society of America in collaboration with Wiley.
