Dual-career strategies: Two PhD students and a baby or two

On Demand
F. Javiera Rudolph, Department of Biology, University of Florida;
When I moved to the US at age 24 to start my PhD, getting married was the last thing on my mind. My academic self never imagined that during my first semester of graduate school I would meet my husband, a fellow PhD student, and that only a year later we would decide to become parents. Our journey has been interesting, fun, full of unexpected turns and challenges. With one PhD down, one to go, and a second baby on the way, I look forward to sharing our wild experience with you.
