In contrast to most of the world, the diversity of plant life in the Sub-Antarctic Magallanic Region is concentrated in bryophytes. While the bryophytes represent the greater diversity, they are often overlooked by the general public. Nested within this region is Omora Ethnobotanical Park in Puerto Williams, Chile, where Field Environmental Philosophy is put into practice. Its seminal interpretative trail, “The Miniature Forests of Cape Horn” promotes “Ecotourism with a Handlens” directing focus to these under perceived plants. This session will explore signage and trail design, and activities and methods to engage visitors in research and life histories concerning bryophytes.
