Plant phenology records from the National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON) are now available through the USA National Phenology Network (USA-NPN ) data portal following the recent integration of nearly 3 million NEON records. In the NPN database, precise, high frequency observations at limited NEON sites across the United States complement lower frequency, but more geographically robust, observations from the citizen science platform. Derived summary metrics and visualization tools available through the USA-NPN portal make NEON data available and more accessible to a broader range of researchers. We will discuss exciting possible implications of this data integration on plant phenology research.
