The Permanent Forest Plot Project (PFPP) is one of EREN’s first collaborative projects. Through the establishment of forest research plots by faculty and students at institutions around the country (~60 to date) and sharing the protocol-driven site data through an online database, students can investigate how their local forest community contrasts with others that may differ in climate and disturbance. Additionally, students should learn collaborative research skills in data quality assurance, database management, and communication. To expand our research outcomes, we invite the participation of additional institutions with goals of increasing our geographical diversity and developing new research questions.
