In the US, 14% of the public hold climate fatalist views and another 20% are very pessimistic about climate change. What’s missing from media coverage of climate change is an emphasis on solutions, relatable characters, and compelling narratives. So we produced a short film about climate change called the End of Snow, using a narrative character-centered structure and with a goal of reaching communities where climate action can make a huge difference. Since late 2016, the film has played all over the world, touching thousands of people my scientific research never reaches.
