Topic modeling to identify major themes and future research needs in disease ecology

Infectious diseases are on the rise, and so is the scientific literature. Processing this growing tidal wave of new information can be challenging, even within narrow specializations in disease ecology. How can we wrangle this big literature to identify emerging topics and important knowledge gaps in disease ecology? We trained a machine to tell us the answers.
