Many imperiled species exist solely in small, isolated populations, each of which is at risk of extinction. Managers need to decide where and when to target scarce resources for preservation and restoration of such species. We developed an approach that permits estimation of viability of many populations at once by sharing information across sites and using remotely-sensed imagery to explain and predict spatiotemporal population dynamics. We created a web application to allow managers to explore the effects of alternative management actions, such as invasive species removal or habitat restoration, and to update predictions with new data in near real time.
