With climate change threatening the daily activities of urban residents cities are crafting plans to adapt. Climate Action Plans "CAP's" and Disaster Preparedness Plans "DPP's"at the city level are composed of identifying the risks and communicating mitigation strategies for extreme weather, heat and floods. CAP's and DAP's of most segregated and least segregated cities for African Americans and Latinos are assessed for adaptation strategies that are direct and intentional for protecting and or prioritizing at risk communities of color.
Results/Conclusions
Communities of color are at greatest risk and while many plans suggest adaptation will benefit environmental justice communities there are few examples of how policies and or ecological knowledge has informed decision making to limit environmental harm.
