Managing microbiomes is critical to maintaining human and environmental health. Identifying and measuring key aspects of microbial community structure and function and integrating the microbial ecology into social-ecological-technological systems models is critical to managing microbial ecosystem services. Engaging across disciplines and with key stakeholders is essential for building effective interdisciplinary teams to improve microbiome management to enhance human and environmental health. Let’s get out of our silos and get everyone around the table.
