Benefits of art: Sci practice as a an ecology graduate student

I didn’t formally engage in any art-making until I started playing music with a 20-person brass band from Providence. I began embroidering to pass time traveling between shows. I now realize that carrying my creative practice through graduate school has benefited me as an ecologist, teacher, and colleague.
