Background/Question/Methods
Municipalities have increasingly been seeking to create policy and enact best management practices that promote pollinators. In many cases, the science lags behind the urgency and zeal of the community to quickly impact change. Actions and programs not rooted in the best science are more likely to not achieve results, and while this might not be immediately detrimental to pollinator health, it impacts future willingness and could have significant downstream impacts.
Results/Conclusions
Here I will present the frameworks of successful policy and program development taken on by municipalities and local levels of government that have resulted in net positive actions for pollinators.
