IGN 2 - Spanning the Boundary: Opportunities for Ecologists in the Science-Policy Nexus

Tuesday, August 9, 2016: 3:30 PM-5:00 PM
316, Ft Lauderdale Convention Center
Organizer:
Andrea Maguire
Moderator:
Sarah M. Anderson
Come and hear a series of snapshots of science-policy experiences from various ecologists. The session will span opportunities for early-, mid- and late-career ecologists. This is a great opportunity if you are interested in an alternate career pathway, considering trying a new experience, or if you are interested in improving your understanding of the role of ecology in policy. The session will feature speakers sharing their unique experiences and an extended discussion at the end with all the speakers to ask your questions about science, policy, and the various opportunities available. Speakers will also talk about the application process and give tips for succeeding. This is your chance to hear about many of the major fellowships, internships, awards, and opportunities for ecologists in the science-policy nexus.
Be adventurous, be yourself, above all be out there!
