Ph.D.s who trained at big, research-intensive institutions often wonder if they will be able to do the same quality of work if they take a faculty job at an undergraduate institution. In this session, researchers from a variety of ecological disciplines talk about how their research changed—or didn’t—when they began working with undergraduates. This session will provide insights to newly minted Ph.D’s contemplating the job search, as well as seasoned researchers who want to incorporate undergraduates into their existing programs. Speakers will cover the practical side of things (funding, equipment, productivity) while sharing with you why they love what they do.
