Architectural labor and craft informing ecological design

Architectural designers confront the non-visual data of ecology with a horror that cuts off any further exploration of its implications for their own formal expertise. This paper will explore how ecological data can be translated into diagrams that have spatial implications.  "Spatial diagrams" are  distinct from forms - they imply (merely) forces, vectors, gravity, transformations, removals, additions, materials - but they point to organizational imperatives and possibilities that are understandable to architects. A catalogue of such diagrams will be explored.
