Science is worthless unless it is shared with others.  Sometimes it is sufficient to communicate simply among experts, but we also need PhD-level scientists who can translate scholarly articles into writing that is both accessible and engaging to policy-makers, regulators, teachers, and the public.  We need journalists, textbook writers, and editors who understand the science behind the words. I will share techniques for teaching students readers expectation theory, an understanding of audience, and how to write arguments that persuade readers of the significance of science.
