Cowboys and steaks? Think again! You might even be a rangeland scientist yourself! We study plants and animals, soils, fungi, biotic interactions, nutrient cycling, biogeochemistry, extreme environments, wetlands, holistic land management, fire ecology, wildlife, social perceptions, climate science, and so much more! The Rangeland Ecology Section welcomes basic scientists, applied scientists, scientists practitioners, policy and industry minded people, and students at all levels. Join us in our quest to understand and share these beautiful spaces. We won’t run out of things to discuss: over 70 percent of the planet is managed as rangelands!
